Don Marquis Substation

Projects Comments Off

Vaughn Industries Substation Division was awarded a new blanket contract with AEP to replace 345,000 and 765,000 volt transformers and installation of new equipment associated with them.

Don Marquis substation is located in Piketon Ohio. Don Marquis is a 765,000 volt station that will have 4 new transformers that drop voltage down to 345,000 volts and transition down a hill to the 345kv substation located in the same yard.

Some of the equipment is new to AEP and to Vaughn Industries.

We mobilized on 11/14/11. The job should last until the end of 2012.

Kyle Parsell is our lead foreman on the project with a second foreman, Brandon Margraf heading up most of the crew out in the yard. We found that having anywhere from a 10 man crew to an 18 man crew it works better having 2 foreman on site. This helps insure we maintain our safety and quality workmanship.
