Columbus, Ohio – July 23, 2025 – Vaughn Industries’ Electrical & Technology divisions have delivered a stunning makeover to the Ohio Expo Center & State Fairgrounds just in time for the 170th Ohio State Fair, which officially opened on July 23, 2025, marking a highlight in ongoing Expo 2050 campus enhancements.
Vaughn Project Scope & Highlights

Built a new state-of-the-art entrance gate at the north entry—capable of handling approximately 80% of fairgoers—with permanent ticket booths and a covered canopy to streamline security screening ohioexpocenter.com.

Installed two nanolumens video displays, integrating modern visual experiences at the entry point.

Completed in just 8 weeks, the project was executed on time and under pressure while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
Grand Opening
The project launch was celebrated during the fair’s opening ceremony, featuring Governor Mike DeWine and Lt. Governor Jim Tressel leading the ribbon-cutting ceremony at the new gate.
The Bigger Vision: Expo 2050
This project represents the first phase of the ambitious Expo 2050 Master Plan, a multi-year initiative investing approximately $460 million in infrastructure, building renovations, and guest amenities across the fairgrounds Future phases include new buildings, public gathering spaces (like the planned Town Square), and underground utility upgrades—all designed to elevate the visitor experience.
