Days prior to Hurricane Ian coming ashore, Florida Power & Light put a call out to Electrical Utility Contractors across the Nation, to mobilize and prepare to restore power once Ian passed. Vaughn responded to their call and eleven of our linemen headed for Florida. Four bucket trucks, two digger trucks and two pickup trucks made the two day trek, arriving a day ahead of the hurricane. Once Ian passed, our crews began restoring power to homes and businesses in several cities including Miami and Port Charlotte. Our crews worked 16 hour days and returned home safely after two weeks of restoring power in Florida.
