Project Overview

Vaughn Industries provided Mechanical, Electrical, and Technology trades expertise for the South Campus Dorm Project at Kenyon College. This project features two six-floor buildings, comprising dorm rooms and common spaces, with a stunning quarried stone facade accented by slate and copper-trimmed roofs.

Key highlights of the project include:

  • Dorm Design & Comfort: The dorm rooms were designed with one- and two-student layouts. Each room is conditioned using vertical fan coil units and receives fresh, conditioned air via dedicated outdoor air units located on the attic floor. Tempered water for the fan coil units is supplied from mechanical rooms located in the lower level and attic.

  • Electrical Systems: Vaughn Industries installed nearly 1,000 feet of medium voltage (MV) duct bank and pulled MV feeders to new switches and transformers. The scope also included minor site lighting and temporary power solutions.

  • Technology Infrastructure: Our team handled essential fiber work to enhance connectivity across the campus.

Conclusion

This project showcases our ability to deliver integrated solutions that combine efficiency, precision, and aesthetics for educational institutions.
