Central Middle/High School was built in 1925, and 1940 added an art deco style auditorium and was home to multiple student productions, assemblies and ceremonies. The city built a new middle school in 2012 and “Central” was closed. In 2018 the demolition began, but saving the original 1940 auditorium being the cornerstone of the project. A new grand lobby and atrium was constructed, creating a State of the Art Modern Performing Arts Center.
